Pierino is recognised as an expert in Competition Law, Consumer Protection, Intellectual Property and Personal Data Protection, Administrative Law and regulatory matters. He advises clients on administrative litigation and defence of companies in sanctioning proceedings, as well as in judicial review proceedings, and regularly represents clients in arbitration and constitutional disputes. 

Prior experience includes serving as Legal Manager of INDECOPI, Deputy Superintendent and Investor Ombudsman of the Peruvian Securities Market Superintendency, as well as an international officer of the Andean Community and Councillor of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, among other positions in the public sector. 

He completed two postdoctoral programmes at the University of Bologna and the University of Salamanca, and holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Law from Universidade da Coruña, as well as a Master’s degree in Law, Business and Justice from the University of Valencia. He also completed the Specialised Programme in International Commercial Arbitration at Washington College of Law. 

He is the author of Derecho de la Competencia (Aranzadi, Navarra, 2022) and co-author of Derecho del Comercio Internacional Peruano (Tirant lo Blanch, Valencia, 2022) and Manual de Derecho del Consumo Aplicado a los Servicios Bancarios (Palestra, Lima, 2021). He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Ibero-American Yearbook of Competition and Consumer Law (IJ Editores, Buenos Aires).
